What it actually does.
Encrypts your connection
Between your device and our server, using modern protocols including WireGuard. The café, hotel or office network sees encrypted traffic and nothing more.
Hides your IP address
Websites see the address of the Veystrix server you chose, not the one your broadband provider gave you.
Travels with you
Pick a location close to you for speed, or another country when you need it. Switch as often as you like.
Three ways to connect.
Almost everyone should use the first one. The other two exist for the networks and the countries where the first one does not get through — and for covering several devices at once.
WireGuard
The default, and the fastest. Modern, audited, and the app is the official one rather than something of ours. 88 locations.
One device at a time. Your account has a single key and a single tunnel address, and a WireGuard connection serves one of those at once. Connect a second device on WireGuard and the first drops.
OpenVPN
Slower, on the same servers. WireGuard only speaks UDP, so a hotel, office or campus firewall that blocks UDP blocks it completely. OpenVPN speaks TCP and gets through.
Up to 10 devices at once. This is the one to use when you want the phone, the laptop, the tablet and the TV all connected together.
VLESS
For countries that actively filter internet traffic — China, Iran, Russia and a handful of others. WireGuard looks like a VPN and gets blocked; this travels inside an ordinary HTTPS connection and does not. 4 locations (Germany, Japan, Singapore and United States). Slower, and it needs a different app. Up to 10 devices at once.
You choose the protocol in your account, and you can change it whenever you like — it is the same subscription either way, at no extra cost. Mixing is fine and is what most people end up doing: WireGuard on the device you care most about the speed of, OpenVPN on the rest. One subscription is for one person, though — it is not for sharing round the office. Set VLESS up before you travel: the app stores and download sites are often unreachable from inside the countries where you need it.
