Set up Veystrix on a Mac
About three minutes, on any Mac running a recent macOS.
Sign in to download your configuration file, or see plans.
Before you start: sign in at your account, choose a location and download your configuration file.
1. Install WireGuard
Open the Mac App Store and install WireGuard. Free, from WireGuard Development Team.
The App Store version is the easiest. There is also a Homebrew command-line version if you prefer — see the Linux guide, which covers the same tooling.
2. Import your configuration
1. Open WireGuard. 2. Click Import tunnel(s) from file, or the + at the bottom left. 3. Choose the .conf file from Downloads.
3. Connect
Click Activate.
macOS will ask permission to add VPN configurations. Click Allow and confirm with your password or Touch ID. This prompt appears once.
A small VPN indicator appears in the menu bar.
4. Check it worked
Open veystrix.net/tools/ip. It should say you are coming through our network in the country you chose.
Connect automatically
Select the tunnel, click Edit, and set On-Demand for Wi-Fi and Ethernet. The Mac then brings the tunnel up by itself whenever it connects to a network.

If it does not work
No permission prompt appeared. System Settings, General, Login Items and Extensions, VPN and Filters. Remove any old Veystrix entry and import again.
It connects but nothing loads. Another VPN or a security tool is holding the DNS settings. Deactivate the other one and retry.
It drops when the Mac sleeps. Expected. On-Demand brings it straight back on wake.
Slow on a distant server. Pick a closer country and download a fresh configuration.
One thing worth knowing
The .conf file is a credential. Once imported, delete it from Downloads. WireGuard keeps its own copy in the system keychain.
